Licking District Unit Elections
One of the yearly tasks our chapter has to do is induct new members into our Order. This is done in the way of unit elections. Our chapter will be contacting all troops in the district to schedule unit election during the months of November, December and January of every year.
During a unit election, we will show a short video that explains the Order of the Arrow, how it was founded and what it stands for. Then we will discuss our local chapter and how we are active. Then we will explain and conduct your unit election. Once the election is complete, we will show another short video promoting the SKC Summer Camp Program. It is very helpful to us if your troop has everything prepared for us when we arrive to conduct your election. Below you can find a document that explains the information and items you need to have on the night of your election.
For adult nominations: If you do not have the information required on the night of the election, you have 2 weeks from the date of your election to return the form and letter of recommendation unless otherwise stated by the chapter adviser. We will remind you during those 2 weeks but after than we will not and your adult nomination will not be processed. Order of the Arrow is about the youth and we will not spend time chasing down adult nominations.
We will begin scheduling troop elections at the October Round Table meeting for the 2010 scouting year. To schedule your unit election if you have not already done so, you may contact the vice chief of troops at themuabdib@gmail.com
If you have no youth elgible or do not want an election, we are still requried to come and talk to your troop about the Order of the Arrow and show a Simon Kenton Council camping promo video.
